I know I've had back-to-back food posts this week but I can't help it, I really love food. I was thinking about something not too long ago - there once was a time when I wouldn't think about food. It was just something I had to do; eat, get it out of the way, so I can go on to do other things. Now, food is the main event of my life. I look forward to good meals, special treats, weekend outing to new restaurants. I'm consumed with it. But, it's not really helping my waistline so maybe I should find a new hobby ;).
Anyway....
After brunch at Joan's on Sunday, we had to stop by Magnolia Bakery for a cupcake. A) because I don't get out to the westside too often so it was an opportunity and B) because I can never say no to a cupcake. This place is like all of your sweetest, most sugary fantasies come to life. Even the colors and decor of the shop were like pure confection. After much debate, we decided on just two cupcakes, red velvet and black and white. They weren't the prettiest ones in the display case but they were pretty tasty. We weren't planning on eating them there but Alique couldn't wait until we got home so we sat and enjoyed it to the last crumb. Magnolia Bakery, I'll be visiting you again soon!
